Havana, March 13. - In the context of Francophonie Month in Cuba, the French company Bakhus plans a discussion on the influence of hip hop on contemporary dance at a panel table today.
The event will take place at the headquarters of the French Alliance (AF, for its acronym in Spanish) located on Paseo del Prado at 4:00 p.m. local time, where the group will share its dance style and most current productions, as well as its current work around the world.
Bakhus will also be in a single performance on March 15 with the play "Gaia 2.0", this time at 7:00 p.m. local time, with four men interacting on the stage of the National Theater of Cuba to deliver here a mix of breakdance, with the most modern of world dance.
Considered masters of contemporary dance, the members of Bakhus will present a unique show in Cuba with seven creations and 400 performances worldwide.
The group has established itself as one of the leading companies of new French dance, and its latest show, "Gaïa 2.0," is driven by the desire to question technological advances in our daily lives, their influences, and the duality between "natural man" and "augmented man."
What is the place of the human being in a world where the logic of production and the economy predominate over the logic of humanism and ecology? The AF expressed in a post on Facebook.
The objective is to make the public aware that we are experiencing a new technological revolution that is evolving very quickly and for better or worse is in the process of disrupting economic, social and political models, the publication said.
Gaïa 2.0, which combines hip-hop dance, circus, and music, conveys a brilliant message supported by inventive, spectacular, and precise dance in a sensational video, the institution commented. (Text and photo: PL)
