Havana. Mar 18th. - President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez received on Monday at the Palace of the Revolución the American actor, director and producer Kevin Costner, who for the second time visits Cuba, on this occasion interested in topics of underwater archaeology.

It is a pleasure to meet you and a huge satisfaction your visit to Cuba, you are very admired by the Cuban people who have followed your stay in our country a lot these days, the president said.

Kevin Costner said he felt very good in Cuba and had dreamed of this project for a long time. He commented on his special relationship of friendship with Cuban Alejandro Mirabal, an underwater archaeologist and important researcher. "I've studied the Caribbean a lot," he said.

The prominent actor said he had been impressed with the Royal Force Castle Museum, not only by the pieces he treasures, but for its architecture.

In the pleasant dialogue, the president invited him to visit Santiago de Cuba, whose bay holds a large underwater heritage.

Kevin Costner's first visit to Havana was in 2001, for the screening of his film Thirteen Days, about the October Crisis. At that time he met with Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
