Havana, Mar 19th. - Cuba's ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer, reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian cause during a meeting with his counterpart Diab Allouh.
During a meeting in this capital, Pellicer reiterated Havana's condemnation of the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian population in Gaza and the West Bank, a press release from the Caribbean nation's embassy said.
He also denounced the violation of Israel's ceasefire agreement, following the restart yesterday of the bombings of the coastal enclave, which caused more than 400 deaths and 600 injuries, most of them women and children.
The diplomat reaffirmed Cuba’s unconditional support for the Palestinian cause, which includes the creation of a sovereign and independent State on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The cause of the Palestinian people is also the cause of Cuba, reaffirmed the official, who pointed out that both President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez gave special attention to bilateral relations.
For his part, Allouh highlighted the historic brotherhood relations between Cuba and Palestine, while thanking the island's strong position in support of the inhabitants of Gaza and the West Bank.
He also highlighted the Cuban government's support for the training of Palestinian youth through the award of scholarships for the study of university careers on the Caribbean island.
The Palestinian diplomat reaffirmed his people's resolve to continue the resistance even in the worst conditions.
Allouh explained that efforts are being made to restore the ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid for the population into Gaza, after 17 days of the closure of the border by Israeli decision. (PL) (Photo: Internet taken)
