Cuba and Equatorial Guinea highlight ties of friendship and cooperation


Equatorial Guinea, March 24th. - Cuba and Equatorial Guinea today highlighted their ties of friendship and cooperation during the official visit to the country by Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

Upon his arrival today at Malabo International Airport, the head of government of the Caribbean nation was greeted by his Equatorial Guinean counterpart, Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua, with whom he discussed the significance of bilateral collaboration.

At the meeting, Marrero highlighted Cuba's assistance in the African country in the areas of Public Health and Education, as well as its willingness to provide support in any way possible.

Both nations established diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, and maintain close ties of cooperation, according to the Cuban government's account in X.

The Antillean head of government arrived from Namibia, where he attended the official inauguration of the country's first female president, Nandi-Ndaitwah, who leads the South West Africa People's Organization (Swapo) party, and participated in other activities.

Marrero has been on a tour of African countries since March 18, which also included the Republic of Congo, and will remain in Equatorial Guinea until March 25.

According to the visit's agenda, he will be received by the nation's top authorities and will meet with Cuban collaborators here.

The Cuban delegation includes José Angel Portal, Minister of Public Health; Déborah Rivas, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; and Carlos Miguel Pereira, Director General of Bilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
