Minas, Camagüey, Apr 23rd.- The farmer’s community of the municipality of Minas successfully made an important donation of food, in fulfilment of the commitment made during the Assembly of the XIII Congress of the Asociación Nacional de Agricultores Pequeños (National Association of Small Farmers) (ANAP). The initiative was aimed at the René Vallejo Ortiz Provincial Psychiatric Hospital and reflects the solidarity and spirit of collaboration of local producers.
Representatives of more than ten cooperatives in the territory participated in this initiative, showing humility and commitment in supporting emblematic institutions that require help to provide adequate care to their patients. The donation included food, vegetables and fruits, which will be used to improve the diet of the more than 100 patients treated in the hospital.
Yadira Vilató, president of the ANAP in Minas, stressed that this gesture is a clear example of what can be achieved when food production joins solidarity in favor of the priority programs of the Revolution. This gesture reflects the peasantry's commitment to his community and his willingness to contribute to health, education and other fundamental sectors, he said.
The management of the Provincial Psychiatric Hospital René Vallejo Ortiz expressed its deep appreciation for the donation received, which will contribute significantly to improving the care and services offered to inmates. The mining peasants also reaffirmed their commitment to support this institution and other community organizations, demonstrating their dedication and social responsibility for the benefit of the well-being of the citizenry.
