Havana, May 3rd.- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, today spoke with Carolina Rangel Gracida, secretary general of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Mexico's national political party.
The talk took place at the conclusion of the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and against anti-imperialism and the resurgence of fascism, based in the capital's Convention Palace, the Presidency reported.
We are very happy with your visit to Cuba and we feel a deep appreciation for the solidarity with which they support us," said the head of state.
From a partisan point of view, we live a very significant moment, Díaz-Canel said, and sent a strong greeting and a hug to his Mexican counterpart, whom, he said, we admire very much, for the stoicism with which he defends Mexico's values, faces the threats of the United States government and supports Cuba.
According to the publication, Rangel Gracida expressed to the Cuban President the interest of continuing to consolidate the history of struggle and accompaniment between the peoples of Cuba and Mexico.
She thanked the hospitality and affection with which he was received in this Caribbean country and highlighted the constant accompaniment that in the course of so many years both nations have taken place.
We will continue to consolidate that history of struggle and accompaniment among our peoples, she confirmed.
As a culmination of the dialogue, an Agreement for Exchange and Cooperation between Morena and the PCC was signed, which was signed by the general secretary of that Mexican political party and Roberto Morales Ojeda, secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC.
Rangel Gracida attended the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and against anti-imperialism and the resurgence of fascism, in which 969 representatives from 39 countries met this Friday, as part of the celebrations for International Workers' Day, on May 1. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
