Camagüey, May 8 – The Tuabaquey Mini-Industry in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, Camagüey province, uses advanced Italian technology to guarantee the production of tomato puree, cucumber and pepper pickles, as well as jams and sweets in syrup.
Merli Sifontes Avilés, Quality Specialist, explained that the main destinations are the points of sale that supply the population of that town, in addition to the contracts they maintain with Frutas Selectas and other companies and organizations.
Currently, she said, the five workers who work in such a venture are committed to diversifying productions, which is why they are producing cassava powder for animal feed and in the preparation phase of flour to make cassava croquettes and balls.
Of vital importance, she specified, are the visits to the production bases, as it allows for a better selection of raw materials to ensure the quality of the different offers
Currently, he noted that they are experiencing limitations with packaging; however, they are using alternatives such as one-, two-, or 30-kilogram nylon bags for marketing because although there are problems with some resources, she stated that the hard work of the group is required to contribute to the production of food.
