Nursing in Camagüey, a key pillar for improving quality of life and social welfare

Camagüey, May 12th.- International Nursing Day is celebrated in Camagüey with a deep recognition of the brave and dedicated professionals who day by day give their talent and heart in every corner of the 13 municipalities agramantinos.

From early hours they meet in hospitals, grandparents' houses, family doctor's offices and community centres to commemorate work that transcends the health care, being a fundamental pillar for the well-being of the community.

Their work in preventing sexually transmitted infections and supporting programmes such as HIV/AIDS reflects their commitment to the comprehensive health of the population, strengthening confidence and promoting safer lifestyles.

In the maternal-child sphere, they play a key role in care and education, ensuring a healthy onset of life for newborns and their families. The community work they do in each neighborhood, in each office, shows that Camagüey’s infirmary not only cures, but also builds stronger and more resilient communities, in a continuous effort to improve the quality of life of all.

This special day not only pays tribute to Florence Nightingale, considered the mother of modern nursing, but also invites us to reflect on the need to strengthen this essential profession throughout the region of the Americas.

The Pan American Health Organization emphasizes the importance of ensuring a healthy workforce, capable of meeting current and future public health challenges.

In a context where primary care and prevention are essential, the work of Camagüey nurses becomes even more valuable, demonstrating that, with a vocation and commitment, it is possible to build more sustainable and human health systems.

The celebration in Camagüey is therefore an act of recognition and hope, which drives to continue betting on a strong infirmary, trained and committed to the well-being of all. (Maykel Torres La Rosa/Radio Cadena Agramonte) (Photo: Internet taken)
