Nuevitas, Camagüey, May 13. - Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that damages the lungs. It is characterized by the formation of a hard, transparent or opaque gray or yellowish mass that appears in the affected organs. In the face of this condition in Nuevitas, there are various measures established by Public Health specialists to prevent it.
Among these measures are vaccination for newborns, covering the mouth and nose when sneezing, keeping homes ventilated, not smoking, avoiding crowding in closed spaces, and having adequate hygiene in all areas.
According to those working in Health Promotion and Education, talks are held in educational centers and districts in the municipality, in addition to distributing brochures and flyers and the materialization of public good campaigns urging local residents to practice responsible behavior regarding this pathology.
