Control and discipline, keys to strengthening trade and economy in Camagüey (Photo)


Camagüey, May 15. - Checking the effectiveness of the system of control and management of trade established by the Ministry of Internal Trade of Cuba is the objective of the visit to the trade system in Camagüey, chaired by the Deputy Minister of the sector, Inalvis Smith Luben.

Accompanied by managers and specialists from different areas, the deputy minister stressed the importance of transforming the business system to benefit the people. During the exchange, which included surveys, visits to establishments and dialogues with consumers, Smith Luben said that measures to curb bad practices and non-compliance with social policies and programmes will be defined in the next three days.

She stressed that trade must become a central hub for improving quality of life, offering alternatives and solutions that expand the variety of goods and services, reduce prices and adequately care for vulnerable people. All this, in an effort to reverse the complex economic-financial situation and ensure compliance with commercial circulation.

She mentioned that Camagüey has potential to build a strong and efficient business system. In addition, she stressed that the integration of all agencies, accompanied by control, discipline and a firm attachment to the humanist principles of the Revolution, is essential to achieving this process.

Smith Luben said human capital is one of the main strongholds of the province's Business Group, which has local suppliers and producers. She added that it is necessary to ensure compliance with the Ministry’ s social policies and programmes, in addition to verifying its functions, marketing systems and strengthening its activities.
