Camagüey, May 19th. - From 21 to 24 May, the IV International Scientific and Technological Convention of the University of Camaguey will be held, in a virtual and face-to-face way; a space for exchange between national and international researchers and discussion of its main scientific results.
According to the doctor of science Isnel Benítez Cortés, executive president and vice-rector of Research, the Convention will consist of 10 symposia, with several workshops and will take place in three spaces: the Hotel Meliá Costa Rey, where most of the participants will reside and which constitutes the main headquarters; the Hotel Brisas Santa Lucía where a tourism workshop will be held in connection with the Delegation of MINTUR; and at the Santa Cecilia Convention Center with the workshops related to Local Development and Scientific Magazines, belonging to the debates regarding Economic Sciences.

This event responds to the pillars of government and the strategic axes set out in the National Plan for Economic and Social Development (PNDES) to 2030, which shows that it is not only an Academy space, but also of the University-business link and contributes to introducing the scientific results that are obtained in the house of high studies to the economic and social sector of the country, commented the doctor of science in science, María Gil, director of Science, Technology and Innovation at the University of Camagüey and executive vice president of the Convention.
Although all symposia will have guests, the presence of Gerardo Guillén Nieto, director of Biomedical Research at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, who will offer the inaugural master conference, stands out. Natalia Khomovich, a specialist in international cooperation at the Russian University of Pyatigorsk, will also accompany the event.
So far 136 Cuban professionals have been confirmed to participate in person and have 250 foreign delegates from countries such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, China, Costa Rica, Russia, Portugal, France.
Since 2011, this event has been held that began under the name of Conference, which changed in 2019, and which takes place every two years. (Source: Forward)
