Camagüey hosts event commemorating the second anniversary of Law 162 on Social Communications


Camagüey, May 21st. - A broad day of exchanges and training will take place in Camagüey from May 20 to 25 to commemorate the second anniversary of the approval of Law 162 on Social Communication by the National Assembly of People's Power.

The activities aim to continue emphasizing the importance of this pillar of government and party management; the awareness that all stakeholders in society must have regarding the aforementioned legal regulations for their effective implementation; and the need to increase the knowledge and practical experience of those who lead communications processes at different levels and of those who lead any entity or body, who are the highest officials under the law.

According to José Díaz Hernández, Director of Information and Communications for the territory, each day of the week will be dedicated to one of the areas of application of this science: this Tuesday will begin with a media communication workshop taught by specialists from Televisión Camagüey; on Wednesday the 21st, members of the Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS) and other professionals responsible for communication activities in institutions will discuss the importance of communication in the organizational sphere; while on Thursday the 22nd, universities will lead a debate on community experiences with the participation of district delegates, presidents of popular councils, and members of community working groups.

A discussion about Law 162, its characteristics, and some of the challenges of its implementation has been scheduled for Friday the 23rd. That day, distinguished professor, researcher, and member of the ACCS (National Council of Social Communications) Roberto Pareta Beltrán will be honored. He is a candidate for the National Prize for Social Communication, which was awarded to another Camagüeyan: Dr. Hilda Saladrigas Medina, a professor at the University of Havana.

The "Educating with Communication" event will conclude on Sunday, May 25, the second anniversary of the Cuban Parliament's approval of Law 162, with a special broadcast of the program El Visionario on Radio Cadena Agramonte, where the results of the implementation of this legal norm and its regulations in Camagüey will be discussed.
