Taxpayers must pay land and sea taxes before Septembe

Havana, 11 Jun. - From 6 January to 30 September is the period established for the payment of the tax on land transport and on the Ownership or Possession of Vessels, as reported by the National Office of Tax Administration (ONAT, for its acronym in Spanish).

This tax is levied on the ownership or possession of motor vehicles or animal-traction vehicles, intended for land transport, and sea, lake and river vessels registered in the national territory.

Natural and legal persons—Cuban and foreign—who own or possess these vehicles are required to provide it.

According to the ONAT, taxpayers who use electronic payment channels receive a 3% discount, and those who made their payment before February 28 received a 5% discount.

Complying with tax obligations within the established deadline is a responsibility and a civic duty of taxpayers. (Text and photo: Granma Digital)
