Havana, Jun 12th. - The member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, head of Foreign Affairs, today conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the government and people of Cuba to the government and people of Austria, following the unfortunate shooting at a high school in the city of Graz, which left fatal victims and wounded.
Through a message on his official X account, the Chancellor expressed Cuba's encouragement and solidarity with the families and friends of the victims, in the midst of this painful event that shocked the European nation.
We express my condolences to the Government and people of Austria for the unfortunate shooting at a secondary school in the city of Greraz, which caused fatal and wounded victims. Our encouragement to family and friends.
The Austrian authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the attack, which left at least 11 dead, including the alleged aggressor, as well as about twenty wounded, while the country receives signs of international support for this tragedy.
The shooting occurred on the morning of June 10 at an educational institute in Graz, Austria's second-largest city.
It is considered one of the most serious attacks in the country's school institutions in recent years.
Cuba has maintained diplomatic relations with Austria since 1946, with regular exchanges in cultural and cooperation matters. (Text and photo: ACN)
