Camagüey, June 13.- The Martí Route, which promotes an exchange with history, is now in its 49th year. In this region, it served as a pretext for uniting children, adolescents, and young people from different locations to pay tribute to the Apostle of Cuban Independence.
This annual event has established itself as a fundamental space for fostering the thinking of José Martí and reflecting on the values ??he championed, such as freedom, justice, and education, as highlighted by Tailin Machado Pérez, president of the Martí Youth Movement (MJM) in Camagüey.
This year's seminar featured the participation of emerging scholars from the municipalities of Florida, Guáimaro, Esmeralda, Sierra de Cubitas, and the capital of Camagüey, who presented a total of 60 works in various formats.
The presentations demonstrated the youth's creativity and commitment to Martí's legacy, which confirms that having talent means having a good heart.
Participants had the opportunity to share their perspectives on Martí's life and work, as well as discuss topics relevant to their generation. Activities included lectures, panel discussions, and workshops that promoted the exchange of ideas and the development of critical thinking among attendees.
The seminar not only served as a tribute to Cuba's National Hero, but also provided a platform for younger generations to express themselves and engage in the analysis of the social and cultural environment. The active participation of young people in these types of events is crucial to cultivating a conscious citizenry committed to the values ??defended by the Apostle.
The 49th edition of the Youth Seminar on Martí’s Studies in Camagüey was an enriching event that reaffirmed the relevance of the thought of this most universal of Cubans today and the fundamental role of youth in building a better future. (Text and photos: Zenia Donet García/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
