Camagüey, June 17 - This morning, the Party School in Camagüey's capital hosted the National Seminar of Preparation for the Consultation of the New Draft Labor Code. As part of the preparation for the start of discussion of the Draft in labor collectives, political, administrative, and union leaders are participating in the seminar.
The code evaluation meetings will begin on September 3 and run until November 30, with the aim of facilitating its approval. During the seminar, crucial topics such as labor rights and social security, as well as the recognition of non-state forms of management, will be addressed. Policy for the care of children, adolescents, and youth was also discussed; the importance of women's advancement was highlighted, and the issue of population aging was addressed.
The new Labor Code, in its 16th version, will have 514 articles and seeks to be a modest and integrative instrument that expands guarantees for workers and their families. Its main objective is to ensure decent employment and establish fair and equitable labor relations between management and workers. It also includes mechanisms to enforce labor rights in the event of disciplinary measures, thus promoting social and labor inclusion.
This seminar represents a significant step forward in the construction of a legal framework that prioritizes work as a fundamental value in society and guarantees safe and healthy conditions for all workers.
