Camagüey, June 20 – The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, for its acronym in Spanish) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, accompanied by the PCC's Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, held a working day that concluded the first cycle of visits and began the second, with tours of the municipalities of Guaimaro, Sibanicú, and Jimaguayú.
During this activity, the results, main deficiencies, and work projections were presented in the social, economic, and productive areas, as well as in the internal life of the political and mass organizations in these territories.
In his speech, Walter Simón Noris, First Secretary of the PCC in Camagüey, highlighted the importance of the cadre policy, the growth and exemplarity of the membership, as well as the transformations achieved in problem-solving. Since his visit to the 13 municipalities in the province, 724 allegations have been identified that reflect the main difficulties to be addressed.
Simon Noris praised the work of the party movement in transforming problems, with the aim of advancing and meeting productive and social goals. To this end, actions have been implemented to avoid the repetition of detected incidents. The policy of training cadres and strengthening the local economy are priorities in each territory, and some indicators show positive trends towards transformation.
In this context, a call was made to continue engaging young people who are disconnected from school and work, as well as to strengthen actions against crime, especially theft and slaughter of livestock, which, although it has decreased in recent months, has shown an increase in certain indicators. Furthermore, the importance of continuing to train cadres to increase the effectiveness of their actions was emphasized.
Morales Ojeda called on the provincial leadership to continue transforming problems into solutions, promoting more effective management from the bottom up. The fundamental premise is that each problem should be seen as an opportunity for improvement, with a focus that reverses to the well-being of the people and promotes active protagonism of the membership.
For his part, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez expressed in the summary of the visit to Camagüey, which closes this cycle of tours through the municipalities, his confidence in the ability of the people of Camagüey to move forward and overcome difficulties, reaffirming the State’s commitment to the development and prosperity of the province.
