Summer... almost at its peak

Camagüey, June 30 – And although it is rightly said that Cuba is an eternal summer, at least the official summer season will begin on July 5th, a period that, due to its dynamics, requires extreme design and organization.

Although the economic complexities entail severe limitations, various companies in the province are implementing an insurance program to create the essential facilities for those seeking to enjoy these months of family rest.

The Trade system has a significant role to play in this phase, as stated by the agency's deputy minister, Aracelys Cardoso Hernández, during her working visit to the region.

She considered that maximum attention should be paid to children, adolescents, and young people, with priority, due to its relevance, to the third Sunday in July, with the sale of, for example, candy modules, although the goal is to make this a daily practice during the so-called summer period.

Among the new initiatives she called for implementation was the promotion of cooking classes for children ages 5 to 12, which would be undertaken by the Culinary Association, while also including the use of new technologies for demonstration courses.

Not to neglect the holding of several recreational activities in places of marked priority such as the home for children without family support, while maintaining the culture of detail in all services and offers.

There was a call for speed in creating electronic payment conditions in the main leisure areas, which is a permanent demand of families, given the difficulties in obtaining cash from banking agencies.

Twenty-five swimming pools belonging to the Domestic Trade and Tourism Business Group are planned for the enjoyment of vacationers.

This phase also requires the participation of various state suppliers, such as entities associated with the Ministry of Food Industry (MINAL), responsible for supplying high-demand products such as cheese, yogurt, cream cheese, deli meats, meat mixtures, and other products derived from fishing.

The Directorates of Sports, Education, Social Circles, among others, have implications at this stage.

Having a good summer is a huge challenge, but the prevailing will and interest is to create moments of high satisfaction for the population. (Text and Photo: Adelante)
