Minas, Camagüey, July 5th - The notable results in the indicators of the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI, for its acronym in Spanish) and in the anti-vector campaign were key for the municipality of Minas to obtain the provincial venue for National Rebellion Day.

José Enrique Casas Diéguez, Director of Health in the territory, highlighted that as part of the activities for the anniversary, progress is being made in the repair of eight works of social impact.

Among them, the Maternity Home stands out, a long-held aspiration of pregnant women and their families, which will have six beds to care for pregnant women from all three health areas of the municipality.

Another prioritized work is the Grandparent's House, a vital institution in the face of the aging population, whose remodeling will be completed in honor of the 72nd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

Work is also underway on the rehabilitation of two Family Doctor's Offices (No. 11 in the municipal capital and No. 1 in the town of Lugareño), as well as the optics center and two community pharmacies, all as a tribute to July 26th.

Casas Diéguez highlighted the changes implemented in the territory, such as the promotion of food production in health institutions, which has made it possible to establish self-sufficiency to improve the diet of patients.

Regarding the celebrations for National Rebellion Day, he stated: "It has been a great boost. The support of the provincial leadership, along with the effort of workers and the population, has allowed to beautify the institutions and strengthen cleaning efforts, making Minas a worthy recipient of this commemoration."

With these actions, the municipality reinforces its commitment to social well-being and honors the legacy of the Moncada deed. (Text and photos: Zenia Donet García/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
