Israel's strategy of blockade, hunger, and murder is condemned

Ramallah, July 21 – Palestinian National Council President Rawhi Fattouh today denounced the catastrophic conditions, siege, hunger, and daily killings in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli aggression.

In a statement, the official criticized the systematic attacks against Palestinians who gather at distribution points to seek aid in the territory.

Such crimes have reached unprecedented levels of human suffering and caused a general collapse, he emphasized.

Fattouh condemned the blockade imposed on more than two million citizens in the coastal enclave and the lack of “effective international action commensurate with the gravity of the catastrophic violations” of human rights.

In this regard he renewed his call to the world for an urgent intervention to stop the war campaign ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as "the siege, hunger and senseless killing".

The international community must allow our people to enjoy their most basic rights to life and dignity, but unfortunately we have only seen absolute silence and timid positions that do not live up to their moral and humanitarian responsibility, he warned.

Our people in Gaza are suffering a complex catastrophe, in which innocent people are dying from missiles and under the rubble, while the living are trapped between hunger, thirst, and disease, he emphasized.

The Palestinian leader affirmed that the "stigma of shame will haunt all those who remain silent or are complicit" because "history is implacable with those who remain complacent in the face of genocide." (Source: Prensa Latina)
