Camagüey obtains a subtitle in National Youth Boxing Tournament

Camagüey, July 23 – Despite a luxurious final day, the squad from this province ultimately placed second in the National Youth Boxing Tournament, having been displaced by the host Guantánamo team.

The Camagüey’s natives attended the farewell of the championship with three boxers, who managed to prevail in their respective fights, although that balance was insufficient to reach the crown of the event, as the champions won with their four representatives in the stubbornness for gold.

The Camagüey’s champions were Nelson Williams (75 kilograms), Lázaro Camejo (80 kilograms), and Marlon Lolo (92 kilograms); they defeated, respectively, Rian Larrondo (Isla de la Juventud), Raúl Castillo (Matanzas), and Yan Díaz (Pinar del Río).

Additionally, Marlon Lolo was distinguished as the Most Combative.

By provinces, behind Guantanamo (38.3 points) and Camagüey (31.6), Matanzas (27.6), Isla de la Juventud, and Villa Clara settled.

According to reports from the school competition held in this eastern region, the top positions were taken by Havana, the host, and Cienfuegos. (Text: Gilberto Rodríguez Rivero, collaborator of Radio Cadena Agramonte) (Photo: JIT)
