In Camagüey, science is in service of agriculture

Camagüey, July 28. - The agricultural system in Camagüey promotes a comprehensive development model based on science and innovation as a way to increase food production in times of necessary resilience.

María Magdalena Artuñedo, head of the Department of Development, Science, and Environment in the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture, highlighted the contribution of six scientific entities belonging to the institution, to which the Cuban Association of Animal Production and that of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians join.

Among the most significant programs, she cited the Forest-Livestock-Environment program, focused on silvopastoralism as a strategy for the sustainability of livestock, led by the State Forestry Service.

The scientific work of the agricultural sector in Camagüey is characterized by close partnerships with the university, the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and other entities. (Source: Radio Reloj)
