Caracas, July 28 – The Great Simón Bolívar Patriotic Pole (GPPSB, for its acronym in Spanish) achieved another resounding victory for the Bolivarian Revolution by winning 285 of the 335 existing mayoralties in Venezuela, which confirms today its indisputable leadership among the people.

An initial official bulletin released by the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, reported the results from the country's main cities, where the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV, for its acronym in Spanish) secured a wide majority, with the exception of seven territories where it lost.

With a broadcast of 82.45 percent of the polling stations, more than 44 percent of active voters participated, totaling 6,273,531 voters, projected at 100 percent of the broadcast, Amoroso explained.

The CNE's principal rector explained that of the 335 mayors up for election, 304 positions were awarded with irreversible tendency, representing 90.74 percent of the total. Of the 2,471 councilors up for election, 2,182 were awarded with irreversible tendencies, representing 90.84 percent.

He noted that this 33rd election marked a new page in the nation's history, as did the National Popular Consultation to select the best projects from among the 37,080 approved for the communities.

The head of the Electoral Power stated that the remaining data and winners will be announced this Monday by the electoral boards in each municipality, so that they proceed to the proclamation of the winners.

In addition to the PSUV, candidates from the Fuerza Vecinal party won in the main cities of the country, with four mayorships, and from the Movimiento Ecológico, Vamos Cojedes, and the Movimiento de Integridad Nacional-Unity parties, with one each.

The president of the Electoral Power expressed his gratitude to the Venezuelan youth for the example given to the world and said he feels "deeply proud."

According to the head of the Unified Command of the Bolivarian Revolution, Jorge Rodríguez, youth participation in the National Popular Consultation to select 5,336 projects out of 37,080 was extraordinary, a record compared to similar processes.

“Democracy won, the only way to achieve peace in the exercise of the right to vote,” Amoroso stated.

He thanked those who went to the polling stations the day before to exercise their right to vote, as well as the coordinators, members of the National Armed Forces for their Republic Plan, the State Powers, members of the National Logistics Committee, security agencies, CNE technical and professional teams.

He also pointed out that the municipal elections had the participation of 1,400 national and international observers, "whose contribution was fundamental to the development of this process" and who were exceptional witnesses of how a people, with a strong democratic vocation, came out to elect their authorities.

President Nicolás Maduro from the Bolívar Square celebrated before thousands of people the resounding victory that he called historic, thanks to the people of Venezuela, which allowed victory in 285 mayors with irreversible data, of the 335 existing in the country.

The varied opposition decreased in the number of mayors by winning 50, that is to say, it gave 55 compared with the 2021 votes.

The Gppsb went from 212 mayoralties in that year to 285 in 2025, won, he said, with the "vote of the ordinary man and woman, of the unredeemed and rebellious people".

Maduro congratulated the youth on their National Popular Consultation, which he described as a "total success."

He also conveyed his congratulations as Head of State and Government to the opposition mayors who won the 50 mayoralties, welcoming them to work, peace, national coexistence, and working in peace, but also to respect for Communal Power, the Communal Councils, and the Communes.

The dignitary dedicated the great victory of the Venezuelan people to Commander Hugo Chávez, who "is always alive in our struggle, memory, and daily actions, and whose children we are."

On the occasion of July 28th, Chávez's birthday, the president, along with a group of leaders of the Revolution, went early in the morning to the Cuartel de la Montaña, where the Bolivarian leader's remains rest, to pay tribute to him on his 71st birthday, where llanera music and cake were not lacking.
