Havana, August 12.- Organized by the San Cristóbal Travel Agency (AVSC, for its acronym in Spanish), the I International Historical-Heritage Tourism Event, Loyal to Heritage, will take place in Cuba from November 11 to 16. This event is aimed at tour operators, travel agencies, and all those committed to preserving cultural heritage.
In this first edition, the program of activities will focus on three heritage cities: Havana, Matanzas, and Trinidad. The legitimate purpose is to pay tribute to the eternal historian Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler and celebrate the 506th anniversary of the founding of the former Villa San Cristóbal de La Habana and the 30th anniversary of the agency.
Loyal to Heritage will also promote Cuba as a Living Heritage destination in the world, while showcasing the high value of cities that have earned UNESCO World Heritage status.
Additionally, the event will foster discussions on the importance of preserving history and the culture of peoples, as well as conserving their monuments for future generations.
The sessions to be held in the Cuban capital will address colonial architecture; while in Matanzas, a conference on the Route of the Enslaved People will be held, concluding with a specialized tour led by Guamacaro's Tour, without forgetting Trinidad, who will focus its analysis on the conservation of tangible and intangible heritage.
The momentous event, a prelude to a new anniversary of the founding of Havana, will be officially inaugurated on November 12 in the Aula Magna of the San Gerónimo University College. The welcoming remarks will be delivered by architect Perla Rosales Aguirreurreta, Deputy General Director of the Historian's Office.
