Innovation grows at the Nuevitas Industrial Fishing Branch (+ Post)

Nuevitas, Camagüey, August 12.- The creative capacity of the workers at the Industrial Fishing Subsidiary of this Camagüey municipality stood out among the eight presentations presented at the Santa Cruz del Sur Industrial Fishing Company (Episur) Innovation Forum.

In the case of the construction of an anti-siphon valve that regulates the water circulation exiting the Solé Diesel engine model SM-103 of Ferro Jaruco 34, by Jorge Navarro Pacheco and José Oliva Ávalo, it was awarded in the Relevant category.

Additionally, the design of a new strategy for productive linkages with state-owned socialist companies and non-state entities, by Roger Esparraguera Ruíz, Seida Céspedes Marín, and Gerardo Izquierdo, received a distinction as Outstanding.

According to a post on the Facebook profile of Episur Fishing Company, the event covered topics related to the production of new supplies, vessel repair, recovery of equipment and parts, and practices that streamline and improve work or decision-making to enhance the efficiency and vitality of the services they provide.

At the end of July, the proposal by local residents Navarro Pacheco and Oliva Ávalo also received applause at the provincial Innovation Expo in Camagüey, where Episur won two awards.

The fishing sector in Nuevitas has a team that perseveres despite the complex economic situation caused by the U.S. blockade against Cuba, fuel shortages, and the need for spare parts for vessels. (Text and photo: Arianna Suárez Torres/Radio Nuevitas)
