Camagüey, August 14.- Until August 13, 2026, employees of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Cuba in Camagüey will pay tribute to the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

This was revealed during the flag-raising ceremony of the Fidel Castro Centennial Communicators Detachment, made up of one hundred young people and experienced workers from the Territorial Division of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa), the Post Office, the Joven Club, the Desoft Computer Applications Company, the MSME SESO Plus, and Radiocuba.

Orestes Carlos Fernández Borges, a member of Etecsa's Cuban youth vanguard, received the banner representing the men and women who will tour historical sites linked to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and carry out several activities to boost the economy and digital transformation.

While presenting membership cards to four new members of the Union of Young Communists, Fernández Borges spoke of the enduring example of the man who taught us to conquer the impossible, defend hope, and proudly uphold the dignity of Cubans.

The welcome was accompanied by the commitment of the 45 young men and women who make up the Base Committee of the Etecsa Territorial Division, who carry out important responsibilities and challenges in the process of computerizing society.

The creation of the Fidel Centennial Communicators Detachment is a worthy tribute by workers in the sector to the historical leader, added María de los Ángeles Mesa Pérez, provincial secretary of the Communications Union, who assured that with the members of the guild we can count on to drive the digital transformation.

A technology fair was also held during the day, with the participation of several provincial entities and organizations, accompanied by projects from new economic actors, who joined the Ministry of Communications' activities towards Fidel's centennial.
