Camagüey, August 14.- A moving cultural event that brought together children, parents, and staff from the Eduardo Agramonte Piña Provincial Pediatric Hospital commemorated the 99th anniversary of Fidel Castro's birth with a day that highlighted his legacy of protecting and caring for children.
The celebration was organized by the hospital in collaboration with the Camagüey Guiñol Theater and other guest artists such as soloist Danay and the Guevara duo, which includes clown Lechuga and magician Yusel, and the dance group Lianet Dance, who provided the entertainment.
The colorful, lively muñecones (papier-mâché giants), dancing, magic, and children's music captured the attention of the children, who reciprocated the visit with laughter and applause.
"Today we celebrate not only the birthday of a leader, but also his commitment to children", said Marlene Oñoz Perdomo, a Prosalud specialist at the Pediatric Hospital.
"This activity is a way to remember his legacy and continue the work for the future of the children", was precisely what was felt in an atmosphere overflowing with joy and rhythms.
The children didn't hesitate to dance, creating a festive atmosphere that overwhelmed those present. They even chanted congratulations to little Anyelina Gómez Rodríguez, who turned 6 this August 13th.
The children will take home memories of a special day and also the certainty that their well-being remains a priority in Cuban society.
With this celebration, the Camagüey Pediatric Hospital reaffirms its commitment to comprehensive childhood care and its role as defenders of the values promoted by Fidel Castro Ruz throughout his life. The day was a reminder that, through unity, a better future can be built for current and future generations. (Text and photos: Zenia Donet García/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
