Camagüey Commerce Workers Finalize Arrangements for School Snack Distribution (+ Photos)

Camagüey, August 26 - As every year, just before the start of a new school year, a technical review of the vehicle fleet for the School Snack Distribution System is conducted. This sensitive program was initiated in the early 2000s.

Pedro González Mendoza, director of General Services for the Business Group of Commerce in Camagüey, explained that conditions are ensured in over 20 food preparation centers in the province to reach all municipalities, except Najasa and Jimaguayú, which provide lunch.

During the technical inspection of the vehicles, carried out at the headquarters of the Municipal Restaurant and Recreation Company, the optimal condition of the transportation, hygiene standards, and the updated medical check-up for each driver were verified, as reported by Miguel Soca Martínez, the provincial director of the sector.

Ramón Hernández García, the founding driver of the program, with over twenty years dedicated to Gastronomy, spoke about a program of the Revolution that serves children and adolescents and currently requires significant efforts from the State to sustain it.

He assured that he pays attention to every detail to deliver food to educational centers as quickly as possible and with the required quality.

Thus, on this Monday and throughout the week, various actions are being carried out, such as evaluating the transportation means responsible for the distributions and checking the hygiene and sanitary conditions of the facilities designated for food processing, once the educational demand is received.

Several organizations are involved in the program, including the Dairy Company, the Meat Company, and the Food Company, all linked to the Commerce sector, to ensure deliveries to students attending double sessions, without the need to leave school until the end of their class schedule.
