Díaz-Canel participates in commemorative military parade in China


Havana, September 3 .- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, participated today in Tiananmen Square, in Beijing, China, in the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

The Cuban head of state was received before the start of the parade by his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, who welcomed more than a dozen leaders present at the commemoration, the Presidency reported on the social network X.

According to the report, the march honored the millions of Chinese who died during the 14 years of armed conflict.

For more than an hour and a half, more than 10,000 soldiers from China's air, sea, and land forces demonstrated to the world the modernity of their weapons and the military might of the Asian giant, according to the Cuban Presidency.

After greeting war veterans, Xi Jinping, in a message to the nation and the world, expressed his respect to all those who participated in the Chinese people's war of resistance, as well as to those who contributed from different parts of the world.

Díaz-Canel arrived in China this Tuesday from Vietnam, where he participated in the event for the 80th anniversary of Independence and the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.

In the Asian giant, the Cuban delegation plans to hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping, visit places of historical and socio-economic interest and participate in activities on the occasion of 65 years of diplomatic ties between Cuba and China. (Text and photo: ACN)
