Camagüey, September 20. – Fifteen ecotaxis managed by the agency Taxis Cuba started operating in the city 14 days ago. This initiative helps somewhat to alleviate the shortages in traditional urban transportation in the province.
Since their launch, each vehicle makes about 12 trips daily, totaling around 180 routes per day. The fare per passenger is 10 Cuban pesos, and so far, responsibility, respect, and commitment by the drivers have ensured good service quality.
To maintain stability and quality in passenger transport, it is essential that both drivers and users take extra care of these means of transportation, which are considered key assets in the State’s efforts to improve mobility in the capital of Camagüey, while offering more affordable fares.
It’s important to highlight that these ecotaxis emit no polluting gases and provide a good level of comfort for passengers. (Text and photo: Zenia Donet García / Radio Cadena Agramonte)
