Havana, September 23 – A Cuban delegation, led by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, participated in the Resumption of the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Issue of Palestine and the Implementation of a Two-State Solution.
The Cuban foreign minister himself published on those platforms that, by attending the Conference, Cuba shows its "rejection of the genocide perpetrated by the government of Israel in Gaza."
He also added Cuba’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian people and recognition of an independent Palestinian State.
The head of Cuban diplomacy held several meetings with his counterparts in the context of his participation in the High-Level Segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Rodríguez met with his counterparts from Ivory Coast, Kacou Houadja; Rashid Meredov, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan; and the foreign ministers of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, and Mali, Abdoulaye Diop, with whom he discussed matters of bilateral interest and issues of global importance.
Bruno Rodríguez arrived in New York last Saturday at the head of the Cuban delegation that will attend the United Nations (UN) Grand Week.
Among the activities already completed on his program are the Meeting with Cubans Residing in the United States, graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, and the tribute to Malcolm X on his centennial at the iconic Riverside Church in New York.
The Cuban delegation also includes Deputy Foreign Ministers Carlos Fernández de Cossío and Anayansi Rodríguez; Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberón; and Ambassador to the United States, Lianys Torres, among other executives and officials.
