Havana, Oct 13. - The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS, for its acronym in Spanish), immersed today in celebrations for its 39th anniversary, is carrying out an intense cultural agenda featuring concerts, artistic galas, and presentations at universities, communities, and workplaces across Cuba.
Another initiative marking the occasion is the presentation of the 2025 Maestro de Juventudes Award, to be held on the 22nd at the José Martí Memorial in this capital.
The award honors the talent and dedication of those who have supported the training of new generations of artists. On this occasion, it will be received by actor Fernando Hechavarría; Carlos Alberto “Tin” Cremata, director of the children's theater company La Colmenita; Miriam Ramos, singer and National Music Award winner; and Amaury Pérez, singer-songwriter.
Also receiving the award are composer and National Music Prize winner Roberto Valera; researcher and National Social Sciences Prize winner Isabel Monal; writer and journalist María Elena Llana; visual artist and National Plastic Arts Prize winner Rafael Zarza; musician Rafael Lay; the director of the Teatro Andante group from Granma, Juan González; and film critic, researcher, and historian Luciano Castillo.
The program also includes the presentation of the AHS Honorary Member Condition and the Replica of the Monument to the Saíz Brothers, as well as the welcoming of new members in each of the provinces.
A concert held in August at the National Museum of Fine Arts and a documentary produced in the context of the Fiesta de la Cubanía in Bayamo will premiere on digital and television platforms.
The holding of the National Council, held from the 28th to the 31st of this month in the capital, and the production of video clips and audiovisuals honoring renowned creators and the martyrs Luis and Sergio Saíz, are significant.
This October 18th, the AHS celebrates another anniversary of its founding, committed to the work of its members: young writers, artists, intellectuals, and promoters from all over Cuba. (Text and photo: PL)
