Camagüey, Oct. 18th - The Basic Business Unit (UEB, for its acronym in Spanish) of Transportation and Mechanization Services (Tranzmec) in the province celebrated its 15th anniversary since its establishment in the country, amidst preparations for the upcoming sugar harvest season.
The background marks the positive management of the collective, which, even in 2024, organized the national central activity of the organization, by virtue of its comprehensive results.
At this moment, they are preparing to begin the preparation of the machinery, with some resources that have been centrally arranged, a process aimed at guaranteeing the transfer of the sweet grass, and the necessary repair and maintenance of equipment, without neglecting other essential tasks of the upcoming contest.
During the celebration ceremony, Darío Valdés González, from the Basic Transportation Unit (UBT, for its acronym in Spanish) of Brasil, in Esmeralda, nationally endorsed with the "15th Anniversary of Tranzmec" Distinction, and Bárbaro López Nápoles (UBT, Panama), from the municipality of Vertientes, were recognized for their performance as Outstanding Cadres.
Likewise, the performance of the innovators Damián Figueredo, Edenis López González and Pompeyo Raúl Mesa García was highlighted, as well as Gaspar Bruzón, Olidia González Medina, Miriam Sosa, and Orosmán Padrón, four retirees who have been reincorporated.
The prestigious institution stands out for its ability to find quick solutions to very specific problems, such as the lack of lubricants (greases, oils...), bearings, and electrodes.
Other noteworthy aspects are its contribution to the production of construction materials, specifically bricks, and the production of food.
Valdés González, the dynamic director, highlighted the fact that his award-winning entity has already materialized the planned production for the current 2025, with very positive balances in indices such as profit, all without deteriorating any other indicator, such as deferred expenses.
He said that they intend to prepare 16 trucks for the upcoming contest, of these, 8 are Scania, 7 KAMAZ, and 1 ZIL, in addition, there are intentions to add 5 trailers of 20 tons, totally rebuilt.
Among the promoted initiatives, he pointed out, are the specialized transportations of containers from Mariel, as an additional source of income, since AzCuba no longer generates cargo, as well as other organizations such as the Ministry of Internal Trade with the standard family basket.
They have managed to expand not only in the central segment of the country, but also towards the eastern zone, in very profitable contractual mechanisms.
Attention to the worker is not neglected, he clarified, in a joint action with the company EsAzúcar, which allows the worker dining service at a very economical price.
