Havana, Oct. 22 – Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel considered interparty ties to be the cornerstone of relations between his country and China, local media reported today.
Based on the strength of these ties, both countries are building a Community of Shared Future, the head of state stated during his meeting with Li Zongyuan, director general of the Museum of the History of the Chinese Communist Party.
Reviews of that exchange, published in the online and print editions of Granma, Juventud Rebelde, and other periodicals, report that Díaz-Canel expressed his gratitude for the attention he received during his visit to the Museum last September.
He also emphasized the significance of Zongyuan's participation in the First Granma-Rebelde International Festival and praised the ties between the Museum of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Cuba.
Li Zongyuan, meanwhile, emphasized that the purpose of his visit was to strengthen cooperation in the study of the history of both countries, their revolutions, and their communist parties.
He also said that this is the first visit abroad by a delegation from that institution, and Cuba was the first country selected to carry it out, in the context of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba. (Text and photo: PL)
