Cuban Prime Minister concludes official visit to Saudi Arabia


Havana, Nov. 1. - Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuba's Prime Minister, announced today the conclusion of what he described as a fruitful visit to Saudi Arabia.

From his X social media account, Marrero Cruz noted that it was the first official visit by a Cuban head of government to that nation, during which three bilateral agreements were signed, marking a milestone in strengthening relations between the two countries.

The Political Bureau member of the Communist Party of Cuba highlighted that the intensive bilateral agenda allowed for the signing of agreements on investment, tourism, and aeronautics, which will tighten economic and commercial ties between Havana and Riyadh.

Marrero Cruz emphasized that these agreements will receive high-level follow-up, in the context of bilateral relations approaching their 70th anniversary.

In another message, the Prime Minister referred to the very heartwarming meeting that closed his agenda, with Cuban collaborators present in nine of the country's 13 regions and with the State Mission.

He recognized the noble work of the health professionals, which has been crucial in strengthening cooperation between the two nations.

During his participation in the IX Future Investment Initiative Forum, an event Cuba attended for the first time, Marrero Cruz held meetings with businessmen with long-standing commercial ties to the largest of the Antilles, and with companies interested in the business opportunities presented by the Cuban delegation.

The Cuban head of government expressed his full gratitude for the displays of affection and solidarity received during his stay in the Kingdom, where he was received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and met with the general supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center.

The visit, which included confirmation of Saudi aid for the recovery of eastern provinces affected by Hurricane Melissa, represents a significant step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and demonstrates the will of both nations to deepen their relations in various areas of common interest such as investment, tourism, and aeronautics.
