Israel continues its killing in Gaza and the West Bank, Erdogan denounces

Istanbul, November 3 - The President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, today denounced that Israel persists in its actions of occupation and killings in the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank, despite efforts to maintain the ceasefire.

During the inauguration of the 41st meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), held at the Istanbul Congress Center, the leader stated that the Palestinian movement Hamas maintains its commitment to the truce agreement, while Israel continues to violate it with new attacks.

"Hamas is very committed to the ceasefire, but Israel's record in this regard is very bad," Erdogan emphasized, pointing out that more than 200 innocent people have been killed in Gaza since the agreement came into effect.

The Turkish president also warned about Tel Aviv's attempts to annex the West Bank, alter the status of Jerusalem, and violate the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, actions he described as unacceptable.

"We cannot allow Israel to change the historical and spiritual reality of Jerusalem or to proceed with its policy of occupation," the leader expressed before the representatives of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

At another point in his address, Erdogan announced that this year, eight new projects will be added to the framework of the COMCEC-Jerusalem Program, which already has 20 initiatives underway, aimed at providing economic and social support to the Palestinian people.

The head of state reiterated Türkiye's call to the international community to adopt effective measures aimed at ending Israeli aggression and ensuring a just and lasting peace in Palestine, based on the two-state solution and respect for international law. (Text and photo: PL)
