Russia strongly condemns U.S. illegitimate measures against Cuba

Moscow, Feb 5. – Russia strongly condemns the illegitimate measures that the United States takes against Cuba in a strategy aimed at the "economic suffocation" of the country, declared Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this Wednesday.

"I want to emphasize once again that the strategy of maximum pressure on Cuba has been consistently applied by Washington for decades. It is aimed at its economic suffocation. Nobody hides it," commented Zakharova, adding that Russia's position on this matter remains unchanged.

"We strongly condemn the illegitimate embargo measures against Havana, the pressure on Cuban leaders and the citizens of that country," she added. Likewise, she denounced that Washington's actions are "outside the framework of the UN and its Charter, as well as other norms of international law." (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
