Cuban Foreign Minister holds talks with members of state mission in China


Beijing, Feb 6.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez exchanged views today here with members of Cuba's State Mission in China on topics related to the national reality and other international affairs of interest.

During the discussion at the Embassy of the island nation in this capital, the Cubans reaffirmed their commitment to the Homeland and socialism.

Rodríguez traveled to the Asian giant as a special envoy of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government.

During his visit, he held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who emphasized China's firm support for the island in defending its national sovereignty and security, as well as its opposition to external interference in the affairs of the Caribbean country.

The diplomatic chief also highlighted Beijing's determination to stand with Havana to continue developing the deep bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation.

As part of his agenda, the Cuban Foreign Minister also met with Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top advisory body.

Likewise, he held talks with Liu Haixing, Head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and both emphasized that inter-party ties are the cornerstone of bilateral relations. (Text and photo: PL)
