
Havana, November 3 - Music, literature, visual arts, and intellectual gatherings are featured on the agenda of the Havana institution Casa de las Américas to celebrate the month of November.
This Friday, in the Manuel Galich Hall, the conference "The Legacy of Fidel Castro: A Dialogue for Justice" will be held, led by intellectual and president of the institution, Abel Prieto. In the afternoon, the 'Espacio Sonoro' event is scheduled, held in collaboration with the National Electroacoustic Music Laboratory.
Dedicated to the electronic music movement in eastern Cuba, the gathering will feature as its guest Danilo Guerrero, director of radio music programs in Holguín.
According to the program, next Monday, the Manuel Galich Hall will host the presentation of the books «Cortafuegos. Palabras que arden contra el fascismo» ("Firewall. Words that Burn Against Fascism") and «Amapolas rojas. Contra el genocidio en Gaza» ("Red Poppies. Against the Genocide in Gaza"), published by Argentina's Acercándonos Ediciones.
Meanwhile, the Mariano Gallery will open its doors on November 13 for the inauguration of the Mexican folk art exhibition “Alebrijes, Little Devils, and Other Fantastic Beings,” featuring guest artist Kevin Oramas from Cuba. The exhibition will remain open until January 26, 2026.
The following day, the Che Guevara Hall will host a concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Música Eterna Chamber Orchestra.
The visual arts will return to delight on Monday the 24th with the inauguration of an exhibition by women printmakers from Boston, in collaboration with the Visual Arts Section of the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (Uneac, for its acronym in Spanish). The exhibition will be open until next December 23 on the second floor of the institution.
The presentation of the journal Conjunto No. 216-217 is scheduled for Thursday the 27th in the Manuel Galich Hall. Furthermore, on that day and the next, the Roberto Fernández Retamar Library will host the 'Create to Learn' Workshop: Moving Inclusion: Paper Hands, led by Professor Pavel Valdés.
