Havana, November 5. - The postgraduate course "Reading brings us closer" will be inaugurated today and will take place every Wednesday until the upcoming November 26 at the Rubén Martínez Villena Provincial Public Library in this capital city.
"Reading brings us closer" is established as a joint initiative of the Faculty of Communication at the University of Havana and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI, for its acronym in Spanish), with the aim of empowering reading educators and launching future lines of collaboration between them.
A note released by the OEI Office in Havana highlighted that the methodological design of the postgraduate course includes 20 in-person and virtual sessions, distributed over four weeks. In addition to the Wednesday meetings at the library, continuous exchange will take place through digital platforms.
As announced, participants will develop a final reading promotion project contextualized in complex environments, which will be evaluated by an Academic Committee. The most outstanding proposals will be recognized and disseminated as replicable models in other contexts.
Also participating in this initiative are the Cuban Book Institute, the Cuban Observatory of the Book and Reading, the Cuban Committee of the International Board on Books for Young People, the Office of the Historian of Havana, and the Rubén Martínez Villena Provincial Public Library.
