Members of the Women's Federation in Camagüey aims for new goals

Camagüey, December 23 - The Federation of Cuban Women (FMC, for its acronym in Spanish) in this province is facing new commitments and goals to become a much larger and stronger organization by 2026, as demanded by current social dynamics.

Emerging at the dawn of the Revolution, its leading role has been evident in all the major missions assigned by the country's leadership, and although its objectives have evolved, it remains a bastion in the defense of women's achievements and empowerment.

Yanet Díaz de la Cruz, a member of the Provincial Secretariat responsible for Ideological Affairs, stated that among the main priorities are ongoing exchanges with women in leadership positions, in order to work together in the effective fight against illegal activities.

Likewise, ties are being strengthened with young women enrolled in training programs on gender violence and the strengthening of ethical and patriotic values.

Another objective addressed is related to the implementation of better strategies on how to educate in order to prevent pregnancies at early ages, and their physical and emotional consequences for the pregnant woman.

Furthermore, at the grassroots level, they are focused on the process of discussion and analysis for correcting distortions and re-energizing the economy, as the intention is for everyone to contribute ideas to continue advancing the country's development, despite the current economic limitations.

During this period, they are awarding the FMC's "65th Anniversary Seal" to individuals who, through their daily actions, honor the work of Vilma Espín. Institutions from Health, Culture, and the Office of the Attorney General are also joining this process.

The official also specified that, as part of addiction prevention efforts, they carried out a series of actions in each territory of the province, consisting of preventive talks with specialists present, which were extended to educational centers and communities.

She highlighted the work done during the period by the territories of Céspedes, Florida, and Sierra de Cubitas, and emphasized the Call for the "The Fidel that lives in me" Contest, which is added to the planned actions commemorating the Centennial of the birth of the Commander in Chief.
