Havana, Jan. 8.- Carlos Rafael Fernández de Cossío, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, denounced through his social media the aggressiveness of United States policy against the island and warned about the tightening of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade following recent statements by anti-Cuban politicians in that country.
The diplomat pointed out that, after the terrorist attack against Venezuela, anti-Cuban politicians in the United States are spreading ominous predictions for Cuba. He added that the economic war promoted from Washington seriously affects national performance, reduces the standard of living, and aims to make the population blame the Cuban government.
He stated that the damage the United States can inflict on any nation is undeniable, as seen in the commercial measures applied against strategic partners of developed economies, which have caused concern in their respective governments.
He recalled that Cuba has faced immense challenges for nearly seven decades due to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade, and will continue to face them in the future, amid an even more severe tightening of this policy.
Fernández de Cossío emphasized that although they present themselves as experts on Cuba, what anti-Cuban politicians forget is that the Cuban people possess a high level of education and access to national and international information, which allows them to have a clear awareness of the United States' role in the limitations of daily life and the country's development.
The Vice Minister reiterated that, despite the difficulties, Cuba has achieved accomplishments in multiple spheres, demonstrating its capacity for resistance and its determination to continue defending its sovereignty. (Source: ACN)
