
Havana, Jan. 8. - Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, for its acronym in Spanish), today thanked the condolences received for the death of 32 Cuban combatants in Venezuela during the aggression by the United States government.
On X, Morales Ojeda expressed gratitude for the messages from parties and political forces upon learning of the Cubans who fell in the early hours of January 3, during direct confrontations with the attackers or due to bombings of facilities.
The fallen were carrying out missions representing the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of counterpart institutions in the South American country.
Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of the Republic, declared two days of National Mourning, starting at 6:00 a.m. on January 5 until 12:00 midnight on January 6.
The presidential decree emphasized that the 32 combatants honorably fulfilled their duty and fell after fierce resistance, upholding with their heroic actions the spirit of solidarity shared by millions of their compatriots. (Source: ACN)
