According to the body that directs Higher Education on the Island, the conditions of the facility make it a space with the essential work requirements for the good performance of those who make up the teams of developers driving the software production process from the UCI.

The work projects undertaken by these professionals pose demanding challenges in the field of continuous improvement and study, and favor the modernization and updating of technical standards, tools, and development languages.

Born out of the Battle of Ideas, at the initiative of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the UCI has developed infrastructure and academic potential that make it a true advanced digital city.

It trains highly qualified professionals in branches of Computer Science, and produces applications and services in this specialty, through a training model that articulates teaching with research, while also supporting the Cuban software industry.

With the development of the country and other foreign scenarios in its sights, the services and products from the UCI constitute Cuban contributions to the information society, a solidarity-based, inclusive, and fair society as dreamed of by Fidel. (Text and photo: Granma Digital)
