
Havana, January 15 - A mass of cold, dry, and stable air of Arctic origin will begin to affect Cuba today with the arrival of the fifth cold front of the current winter season.
This was confirmed to the Granma newspaper by AilynJustiz, head of the Forecast Center at the Institute of Meteorology, who specified that the event will cause a marked drop in maximum and minimum temperatures in the western and central regions next Friday and Saturday.
She explained that models suggest the arrival of another front on Monday the 19th, followed by a second surge of cold air.If this occurs, winter conditions should prevail until the middle of next week.
The end-of-year festivities also brought a drop in temperatures on the island, with record low temperatures in central locations below 10 degrees Celsius. (Source: Prensa Latina)
