Havana, Feb 21.- Bruno RodríguezParrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated today that his country's foreign policy is peaceful, supportive, and respectful of International Law, and described as inconceivable that the world's largest economic, military, and technological power, the United States, uses the slanderous pretext of feeling threatened by a nation of Cuba's dimensions.
Through his official account on the social network X, RodríguezParrilla emphasized: "Cuba poses no threat to any country. Our foreign policy is peaceful, supportive, and committed to peace, friendship, and cooperation. It is respectful of International Law and the UN Charter. It does not aggress, threaten, or interfere in the internal affairs of other States."
The Cuban Foreign Minister questioned the consistency of the position taken by the United States government, which on January 29 signed an executive order declaring Cuba as an alleged unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security of that country, an argument used to justify new unilateral coercive measures that include imposing tariffs on nations that supply oil to the Island.
It is inconceivable that the largest and aggressive economic, military, and technological power in the world could use the slanderous pretext of claiming to feel threatened by a nation of Cuba's dimensions, he emphasized.
The statement by the head of Cuban diplomacy adds to the multiple international denunciations against the tightening of the blockade and the unilateral measures adopted by the US administration, which have generated statements of rejection from governments, multilateral organizations, and solidarity movements worldwide.
