
Camagüey, Feb 23.- From this weekend until next Tuesday, in Camagüey several work groups are joining the day in tribute to the date that marks the restart of the wars of independence in Cuba, celebrated every February 24, with changes in work focused on food production and contributions to the cleaning and sanitation of health institutions in the province.
Following the call of the Central Organization of Cuban Trade Unions and the Union of Young Communists in the territory, the activities are also aimed at adorning workplaces with identifying symbols of the Cuban nation and other demonstrations of unity, sovereignty, and continuity that distinguish the work of the revolutionary Cuban people.
Mobilization in tasks aimed at food production in productive poles of the territory will be led by various representations of work groups, an essential activity in the current scenario to achieve the long-awaited food sovereignty and guarantee food for the people from the countryside.
For the upcoming February 24, a date full of symbolism and patriotism for Cubans, special morning gatherings will be held in all workplaces with a sense of unity and commitment to the Homeland. Likewise, during the day, other activities will take place, such as workshops related to history led by the Mariano youth movement, university students, among others.
On that same day, a representation of the youth of Camagüey will hold a bike ride from Joaquín de Agüero Square to the emblematic Ignacio Agramonte Park in the provincial capital, also commemorating the date that recalls the moment when the equestrian statue of the Camagüey’s patriot was unveiled by AmaliaSimoni in the year 1912.
