Camagüey, Feb 25.- Sexual and reproductive education is consolidating itself as an essential pillar in the healthy development of new generations. In this context, theYoung People for Life Network in the province of Camagüey continues its "Decide tujuego" (Decide your move) campaign, aimed at preventing adolescent pregnancy from an early age.
Diana Cervantes García, a specialist from the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Unit (Prosalud) in the territory, explained that this initiative aims to raise awareness and promote responsible decisions among adolescents in Camagüey, addressing the topic in a participatory manner adapted to their realities.
The network has created spaces for dialogue and reflection, establishing a direct communication bridge with young people from different educational centers. In these meetings, not only preventive strategies are discussed, but also the serious consequences that adolescent pregnancy can have on life projects, as well as on physical and emotional health, and family and social dynamics. The methodology used encourages active participation, transforming what would traditionally be a one-way discourse into a horizontal exchange of experiences and knowledge.
Recently, students from the Inés Luaces Urban Junior High School (ESBU, for its acronym in Spanish) were protagonists in one of these debates. During the session, they explored relevant topics related to sexuality and well-being. They analyzed everyday situations, debunked myths, and strengthened their analytical capacity, allowing them to build their own well-founded criteria to face social pressures and make autonomous and responsible decisions in the field of sexual and reproductive health.

Gleyder Peña Alvarez, a specialist from Prosalud, pointed out that the work of the Young People for LifeNetwork is essential at a time when, despite the accessibility of information through various channels, it is not always accurate or suitable for the age of the young people. By taking the debate directly to classrooms and communities, the "Decide your move" campaign helps close knowledge gaps and empowers adolescents with tools that allow them to exercise a full, safe, and responsible sexuality. The metaphor of the "move," used in the campaign, invites reflection on the importance of each choice in building the future.
With initiatives like this, Camagüey positions itself at the forefront of community efforts to reduce adolescent pregnancy rates and their implications. The Young People for LifeNetwork reaffirms its commitment to continue weaving support and knowledge networks, convinced that prevention begins with education and sincere dialogue. The goal is clear: to ensure that every adolescent has the information and confidence necessary to decide their own move, taking responsibility without risking their dreams and potential.
