Santiago de Chile, Mar 11.- Demonstrators gathered in front of the United States Embassy in Chile to ratify their support for Cuba, which today faces a difficult situation due to the tightening of the U.S. blockade, particularly regarding fuel.
"Today we have come to tell the United States that Cuba is not alone and that we will fight so that it can continue forward with its own project, defending its people," Councilwoman Dafne Concha told Prensa Latina.

She recalled that Cuba is an island of peace, is supportive, and has sent doctors all over the world to help save lives.
Amaya Candia, president of the International Medical Society of Graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM, by its acronym in Spanish), highlighted that more than 32,000 doctors from 122 countries worldwide have been trained at that study center.
"That is one of the most important achievements internationally," she stated, and condemned the campaigns against the Cuban Medical Brigades aimed at minimizing everything the island has done for the people.
The protest in front of the U.S. embassy in Santiago was called by the Solidarity Movement, the Communist Party and its youth wing in Chile, the Popular Propaganda Brigade, ELAM-Chile, and the José Martí Institute of Culture, among other organizations.

Ariel Ramírez, president of the ELAM graduates association, condemned the new attempt by President Donald Trump to continue suffocating the people of Cuba with the oil blockade, which adds to more than 65 years of economic, commercial, and financial siege against the Caribbean nation.
