Cuba celebrates Press Day

Havana, Mar 14.- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, sent a warm congratulations to national press workers, on the occasion of the celebration of their day.

"A hug to the Cuban Press, worthy companion of all the battles of the Revolution, inside and outside the Homeland, which has always told history from the trench, equally in daily life as in internationalist missions," he expressed in a post on the social network X.

"Alongside combatants, doctors, teachers, builders, it has been and is a soldier in the Martí-inspired way that combat demands when facing the enemy," he added.

For his part, the organization secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Roberto Morales, alluded to the date and joined the congratulations "with the conviction that the revolutionary spirit that animated the newspaper Patria will always live in press workers."

On March 14, 1891, the newspaper Patria was founded by the Apostle of Cuba, José Martí. On this date, press professionals on the island celebrate their day and reaffirm their commitment to truth and justice, working so that the press continues to be a bulwark at the service of the people.
